In July 2018 and 2019, the 8th and 9th “Summer Program in Greek Language, Translation, and Culture” of the Research Group “Studies in Medieval and Modern Greek Culture” of the University of Granada (Spain) was held in Drama, under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture (Directorate of Literature).

The objective of the program was to convey to the participants-students and instructors alike-the spirit and essence of the region of Drama by enabling them to discover the placethrough authentic experiences and become part of it.
With a well-designed curriculum (Modern Greek language, literary translation, theoretical courses in Greek culture), lectures, guided tours, and cultural activities (visits to museums, archaeological sites, natural monuments, traditional dance lessons, theatrical performances, concerts), the educational program was comprehensively structured, offering the utmost to its participants.
