Following the presentation of the CYCLOPS art book “Pictures of Drama and its Splendid World” and the presentation of the exhibition under the same title at the Benaki Museum, the Chairman of CYCLOPS, Mr. Aris Theodoridis, call for an open invitation to the people of Drama for the creation of an archive of old pictures of the region, having as goal their preservation and promotion.
Private individuals, cultural associations, institutions, and collectors rushed to contribute to this endeavor by submitting the material under their possession to CYCLOPS Non-Profit Organization. Up to date, more than 1,500 pictures and 1,000 negatives have been documented, digitized, and archived according to modern classification standards. After the process of documentation, the photographic material is returned to its owners, who naturally retain the intellectual property rights. For any further use of the material, their consent is required.
This process is ongoing, and any contribution is deemed both valuable and welcome.
